Training
Guidelines

"Months of preparation, one of those few opportunities, and the judgement of a split second are what makes some pilots an ace, while others think back on what they could have done."

- COL Gregory "Pappy" Boyington, USMC

The most important thing that can be stressed is that all pilots read and understand the Falcon 4.0 manual. It forms the basis for any good training. This is because it is difficult to explain something that you can't see yourself (Only you know what your HUD looks like when you fly an attack). If you have any questions concerning tactics in the Falcon 4.0 manual, do not hesitate to ask.

Before any missions are conducted, You must at least understand the radar and how to launch the weapons. This can only be done through individual practice, you have to bring the basic knowledge of the radar and weapons with you. So read the manual and fly the relevant Tactical Engagement missions to gain that experience. Of course squadron members are always willing to give you a hand if there are any areas that you are having difficulty with in mastering .... be it a weapon, a function of the aircraft or a skill.

Also, the squadron puts great value on brining your aircraft home. Some pilots think they can just end the mission once they are near the home base. The Wildcats prefer that as many of the assigned aircraft are returned as possible. If you have landing troubles, we will be happy to show you how to do landings the correct (or at least the Squadron standard) way.

As you fly with the pilots of the 69th, you will gain more and more experience. We will do our best to see that you get as much as you can out of the simulation in order to gain the best possible return for your efforts.
